The FOM Add-on has been designed to reduce the time needed to work with complex FOM like the RPR FOM. Available for the HLA Toolbox and the HLA Blockset it reduce the time needed to understand the FOM file.


When code is being generated by the hlaGUI (HLA Toolbox), the FOM is parsed and an object oriented style class structure is created based on the information in the FOM all the way down to the basic HLA standard defined data types.
The user can then work at the Object attributes (or Interaction parameters) level. No need to make sense out of the FOM complex data structure and types, this Add-on is doing it all. The user is presented with a graphical interface to set values to be sent to the RTI and/or select values to be received.


Built on top of the traditional features of the HLA Toolbox, the FOM Add-on provides a higher level of programming when developing the HLA federates in MATLAB without removing any of the flexibility of the HLA Toolbox.

The FOM Add-on also provides automatic Encoding and Decoding capabilities when values are being updated or reflected by the federate based on the information contained in the FOM. If data types are missing in the FOM, the user can configure them using the FOM Add-on user interface.
